SUBSTITUTE TRAINING CLASS

Required New Substitute Training

Date: April 03 ,2025  (9:00am-12:00pm)– Administration Building

**Your application will automatically register you for substitute training class.

General Information

• Certified Classroom Teacher: Persons must have a current, valid Texas certification (as verified through SBEC). Pay is $90.00/day
  • Long Term (5+ consecutive days for a teacher position) – $110/day
• Classroom Teacher Degreed: Persons holding a Bachelor's degree or higher. Associate's degrees do not qualify. Pay is $90.00/day
  • Long Term (5+ consecutive days for a teacher position) – $100/day
• Classroom Teacher Non-Degreed: Persons who have at least a high school diploma/GED. Pay is $70.00/day
  • Long Term (5+ consecutive days for a teacher position) – $90/day

Tasks for the Applicant

• Complete online APPLICATION for Substitute Teacher. If possible, attach diploma/transcripts and any certifications held.
• Bring a copy of your high school diploma or college transcript to Substitute Teacher Training.
• Read Form I-9 and bring the necessary supporting documentation to Substitute Teacher training.
• For IRS and PARS purposes we request your social security card.
• Attend a Dayton ISD Substitute Teacher training.  Professional attire is required.
• Complete Criminal History Check
• Complete the required fingerprinting process through TEA and pay $48.95 once you have received your fingerprint pass from IdentoGo Services after attending our substitute teacher training course. 
• Complete all required tasks in TalentEd

*Qualified Refresher will have substituted a minimum of 5 days in the 2^nd Semester of the 2023-24 school year. If requirement has not been met you will need to complete the NEW substitute training.
