DISD SECONDARY

GIFTED & TALENTED PROGRAM

DISD offers a variety of classes for those students who wish to pursue a more rigorous preparation for post-secondary studies. Our secondary Advanced Academic courses offer opportunities for students to work above their current grade level and prepare to potentially earn college credit while still in high school.  

DISD services for Gifted and Talented students in grades 6-12 are delivered through our variety of Advanced Academic course offerings. Teachers who serve Gifted/Talented (GT) students participate in professional learning opportunities specifically designed to meet the unique educational needs of the gifted student, and the depth of expertise required for their advanced content and curriculum.
